Receipts, accounts, letters, contracts, agreements, bonds, deeds, legal papers, licenses, and other documents pertaining to Athens, N.Y. Subjects include canals, brick manufacturing, land transactions, debt records, cholera epidemic of 1832, the Morton-Wait family, and the Van Loan family. Of note are the papers of Charles Smith, his wife Mary, his sister Phebe, and other family members consisting of insurance policies, receipts, accounts, legal papers, and letters with frequent mention of the 1832 cholera epidemic, 1804-1858; and records of the Trinity Episcopal Church consisting of programs, clippings, newsletters, pew rent indentures, minutes, bills, accounts, and letters received, 1803-1982, and a photocopy of the parish register of baptisms, marriages, and deaths, 1806-1825.
